Mid-holidaze post

Tuesday, December 30th, 2003

Been a mellow holiday season around here. Spent time with family, had Christmas day quietly here at home which was nice. No big plans for NYE, we’ll probably play board games with the kids and watch the ball drop.

Pat gave me The DaVinci Code, and I can’t wait to finish it. Then I need to find a book group to talk about it with!

Also got a HUGE harddrive and a DVD burner, waHOO! Now all I need is hours and hours of uninterupted time to start makin’ movies .

Mom, there’s a big truck in our yard!

Our friend Paul is going to cart away the debris from our bathroom reno, so his truck is parked on the front lawn so Pat can fill it up.

Friends have suggested that I decorate it with lights if it’s still here for Christmas. If it comes to that I’ll be sure to post a picture!

Some music for the holidays: Carol of the Bells

It’s finally the first day of winter! After all the snow we’ve already had, hard to believe!

sigh…

I have a cold in my nose and a sore throat. Seems like I’m sick more Christmases than not. Picked up some Cold-Eze and some Zyban. And Tylenol Cold, for day and night. It’s been a blah month without being sick, I refuse to let this make it even blah-er.

Finally got the tree decorated, ‘cept the icicles. I haven’t hung icicles in years, but I think this tree needs them. I wanted a narrow tree, and it’s shaped nicely and all, but it just needs that extra sumpin.

Got the cards mailed, did a little cleaning. Pat’s working late wrapping everything up, then he’s home till 1/5. (yay!) I’m going to pop a Cold-Eze in my mouth, wrap myself in my polartec blankie, grab the clicker and zone out for the night.

Teenagers waiting for the bus

Wednesday, December 17th, 2003

It was cold, and pouring rain. The school day was off to a late start, and the kids got to sleep in this morning. The extra sleep didn’t prepare them for this, however.

There they stood, staring in the direction from which the bus would be coming any other day, for 20 minutes this morning. Barely moving, resigned to their wet fate.

(In the end the bus showed- coming from the other direction. They turned as one, filed up the steps, and disappeared into the school day.)

To be honest I haven’t spent a whole lot of time actually reading the thing, but it just cracked me up big time that it’s called Kicking Ass!

And it’s colorful, too!

A treat from the new WDW Pop Century Resort.
