Oh-oh, Dreamweaver… pthhhbbbt.

Thursday, April 22nd, 2004

What would possess Dreamweaver to stick empty spaces in the filenames of the nearly 100 pages it whipped up for me when I asked it to make a photo album? I didn’t figure out what the problem was until I’d typed up all my nice little captions on the Pages Of Bad Links. Argh.

After much open::open::copy::paste::save::close::close I finally got it worked out. I’m such a control freak I even hate letting it do the work for me, but the prospect of plugging in all those pictures and links myself was too overwhelming. Had I only known it would turn out to be just as much aggravation this way!

When I decide to do something, generally I want to do it, and get it done. I don’t like to start a project and leave it unfinished. Probably because I tend to find some other Much More Important thing to do and I never get back to what it was I was doing first.

So today I decided to try to get at least two days worth of photos slash trip reports up. I got the Disneyland shots up, and I got the pages done for our day at California Adventure, but FTP is hiccuping and they won’t load. Not through Dreamweaver, and not even through WS_FTP. I’m sure it’s just a server burp but I have to start dinner, dammit! And if I walk away now, it may be weeks before I post the pictures!

Anyway, I’m sure they’ll be up eventually. Email me if you want the links.

If I’m doing memes it must be Tuesday

Ooh, I’m a sucker for cop shows.
1. Who is your favorite (past or present) TV cop? Starsky. Definitely Starsky. Hutch a close second.

2. Which TV cop do you think was the most crooked, or the most inept? Inept? Barney Fife. Crooked? Erm, Baretta? No, wait the guy who played Baretta was arrested for killing his wife, not Baretta himself. I dunno.

3. Which TV show had the best ensemble cast of police officers? Law & Order. No matter who’s in the cast this week month year, they’re always good as a team.

~Bonus~ You need to hire a bodyguard for yourself. Which TV cop do you choose? Ooh, that’s hard. If I’m really worried for my personal safety I’d have to go with someone like Kojak who takes no shit. If I want fashion advice along with security I’d go with Crockett from Miami Vice (dated as that advice may be.) But for just feeling all safe and cuddly, Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street. What was his character’s name again? Hanson?

What happens when a blogger runs into a celebrity and they’re both just silly people?

I found this via Daypop. One of the coolest celeb encounters I’ve ever read about.

Now this is spring!

What a beautiful day! The sun was shining and it was practically hot outside, up into the mid 70s!

We slept in (ahhh) then Pat took Nick to his first soccer practice and I took Tim to a t-ball game. Came home, Pat took Nick back to the soccer field for a game, and I stayed home and started cleaning up the yard. I have to keep reminding myself how much I love those big old oak trees when they shade the deck in the summer, because I hate the things in winter and spring when they’re just big mess creators! But even the raking wasn’t so bad. Timmy rode his bike around the driveway to keep me company.

Nick won his game, he was goalie for the second half. I’m glad he gets to play goal, he always wanted to when he played hockey but never really got the change, much more competitive.

We had chicken shish-kabobs for dinner, and now Pat’s out looking for a new cellphone. His last day at the old job was Friday, and it was a company phone. The new place told him to get his own and they’ll reimburse the charges.

Tomorrow should be another nice day. I’ll hopefull get some more yard work done, but my hip is starting to really bother me. I must have strained something when we were in California. It started to hurt a bit when I get up from sitting for long periods, but the pain would go away. The last couple days it feels like it might be getting a little worse, though. I guess I shouldn’t be doing that raking…

enough rambling. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

I’ve seen this guy’s name popping up all over, but I’d never heard his music. Saw that he’s going to be on Letterman tonight so I thought I’d check him out.

After checking out a few videos on his website I think I might just get his CD. This guy’s good! He’s Irish, folk music but a little edgy. Nice.

I’m back! Didja miss me?

What a great vacation! Usually when I go away I’m pretty happy to get back home into the regular routine, but this time I really wish we could have stayed away longer.

Note to self: avoid flying across the entire nation on the red-eye ever again. It’s painful.

One of my favorite moments from the trip- a totally Kinks experience. As we “walked down Hollywood Boulevard” I caught “Captain America calling” someone on his cellphone:

Do you think it was staged? Pretty funny.
