I’ve had all these, erm, ponderings of how I should end the blogging year. Resolution list? Best of 2004? But problem is solved in a totally bloggy way, thanks to Tenth-Muse via Miss Zoot (both of whom I want to be when I grow up.) So here, now, is the 2004 Meme!
1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before?
Learned how to run an internet BB with hundreds of members under extreme duress!
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
No, and no. Maybe I’ll set a loose goal or two, but I’ve never kept resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
Does Los Angeles count?
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A job that pays me cash money, even a little bit. And a car without a dent in the back.
7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
April 5, the day we boarded a plane to CA, my youngest kids’ first flight!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not completely crashing the aforementioned internet bb! And the morph from introvert to extrovert continued at a much fast pace- isn’t that like totally awesome?
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being a good enough friend, I think. I have some making up to do.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing more than a month-long cold.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
All the songs I’ve picked up from iTunes! Having music back in my daily life really has made a difference, I’d let it slide too long.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Andy. He grew up, a lot. Makes his momma proud.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and disgusted?
Nameless hordes.
14. Where did most of your money go?
A pretty damn big chunk of it went toward keeping us warm in winter and cool in summer with our new furnace and AC. And of course the new bathroom!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The new bathroom! And our trip to CA, planned last minute and a total success except for the red-eye home. Never. Again.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
Fall to Pieces by Velvet Revolver. One of those songs that became a favorite the moment I first heard it.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
About the same.
b) thinner or fatter?
Was a bit thinner till all that food in the past week!
c) richer or poorer?
Richer, just a bit!
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Everything! I need to get my life better organized so I can do all this stuff I enjoy.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
I really spent way too much time reading gossipy stupid stuff on various bbs. It’s like a real-life soap opera and not something I need in my life right now.
20. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
Home with my husband and kids, just the way I like it. Regis Philbin, Ryan Seacrest- I’ll let the kids pick, as long as we get to see the ball drop!
21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
Yes. Again. Same guy. Happens all the time.
22. How many one-night stands?
Heh.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Didn’t really have one this year, but only because I keep forgetting to watch. I guess Big Brother was the only show I watched regularly (is that pathetic  ?)
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, I just feel very frustrated that I invested time and effort into certain people who turned out to be not worth the effort. Don’t hate them, though.
25. What was the best book you read?
Didn’t read many, but I really like The DaVinci Code and Skinny Dip.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Guided by Voices. A little late, apparently.
27. What did you want and get?
My iPod, my new Tungsten E, and most of all a healthy year for my family.
28. What did you want and not get?
A bigger house. This house bigger. Someday!
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Lost in Translation. I never wanted to go to Tokyo until I saw this movie.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Had lunch with my parents, ate homemade birthday brownies from my husband and kids. Turned 41 and didn’t really mind so much.
31.What one thing would have made your year measurably more satisfying?
A larger design portfolio. Certain promises made kept, on both sides.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Still living in jeans, but nicer jeans. And heeled boots instead of NB sneaks.
33. What kept you sane?
This blog. And Cat  .
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Always Bruce.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Iraq war and getting the hell out of it.
36. Who did you miss?
In my virtual life, a bunch of people disappeared because real life got in the way, and I miss them. In my real life- I keep missing my gram. At the oddest times I miss her.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
I’ve met a few people this year that have made little pieces of my life better, even if just for a day.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
Too many people take too much too seriously. And be very careful who you trust.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
In the window of my world
A heart’s birth gives me meaning
kicking and screaming
in the window of my world
In the window of my world shoulder to shoulder
And I’m feeling bolder
Crashing through the world in my world
Aw, you’re too sweet!
If I were to do this meme, by favorite one to answer would be the birthday one–I had ato stop and think what I did for it, then remembered I was in prison!
Wow, you’re deep! I’m not sure I could have answered all those questions, especially without sounding stupid or silly! I’m constantly awed by your and Cat’s blogs, they’re so good!
