I’ve got about 20 minutes till I’m supposed to be at the eye doctor. No rush, the office is right around the corner, literally. One of the cool things about living in NJ is that everything is close by. I rarely have to drive more than 15 minute to get anywhere. On the down side, when I do have to drive more than 15 minutes I grumble the entire way.
I’m thinking I might need a new prescription for my contacts. I hate that my eyesight is getting worse. I actually have to use reading glasses, and, Lazy Bitch that I am, I now have a pair in every room of the house, and of course one in my bag, so I never have to go looking for them when I want to read something. I even have a pair in the bathroom. Is that pathetic? They’re all the cheapo supermarket kind. The ones I keep in the bathroom are actually a men’s style, but they do the job.
And when my cousin Peg found out I need reading glasses she laughed. Hmph. Ah, Peg, enjoy your youth (she’s a year older than me but hasn’t lost as many braincells, so I chalk up my earlier lack of eye elasticity to that .)
So I’ll go to the eye doctor and complain about the fact that they don’t take my insurance so I have to do all the paperwork myself (that would be LB rearing her head again), and hear that I need a stronger prescription, and then, when I’m all bummed, I have to run to the store and restock the tiny list of foods I can eat till I finish Phase one of the South Beach Diet. Thank God for nuts and avocados. I’ll be safe if I stay far far away from the bakery section.
Guess I should mosey on ’round the corner.
I keep putting off my eye appointment because I hate the drops.
I only have three pairs of reading glasses–upstairs, downstairs and in my lady’s handbag. I’m in a tizzy today–I can’t find the downstairs pair!
I do have to lOl at your reading glasses in every room! Lucky bum that I am, my eyesight hasn’t changed over the years! Eric on the other hand, got glasses at 30, (first time ever), went to contacts, each year his eyes got worse! Finally about 5 years ago, he got lasik….he’s never regretted it!
Still no reading glasses here. Considering I am extremely nearsighted (20/450 in each eye), I figure my vision might actually improve as I get older!! I’m hoping to have LASIK done in the future, though. Contacts are getting old.
