We get those ants-with-wings in August. They line up by the hundreds, march in a column up something tall (like a basketball pole) and fly away in droves. I’ve watched them do that since I was a kid. I’ve never looked into why they do it. I guess it was always too hot to do anything else so I observed the flying ants.
