Senior year stuff

I spent the morning helping to give out goodies (travel mugs, pens…) to the HS seniors as part of Project Graduation. They were all heading into the auditorium to get information about the prom, and we did our part to add to the chaos by checking off their names as they got their gifts. Not sure why we did that, I guess so they didn’t double up? Or maybe we’re supposed to track down the kids who weren’t there (and from what I could gather quite a few weren’t) and give them their mugs?

I listened in a little to the prom presentation. They played snippets from songs to help them choose a theme. Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight got a few groans (too sappy, I guess) and Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer turned into karaoke. I didn’t catch the rest, maybe I’ll find out from Andy later.

My senior prom theme was Best of Times by Styx. We really voted for Billy Joel’s Only the Good Die Young but it was vetoed by our principal Sr. Louise. Go figure.

I can’t remember what our Prom theme song was. Ashley says they want “Keg In the Closet” by Kenny Chesney for their graduation song….somehow I doubt they get to use it!

  2. Ours was “Time in a Bottle,’ which was ironically enough song for dh’s first wedding the year before.
