The web is you… and me…
It’s very geeky of me, but I love this video explaining the evolution of the web. This stuff fascinates me. In a very similar way I was fascinated by television 25 years ago when I concentrated in TV Production in college. The intersection of media and viewer… and this vid shows how that intersection has blurred into a cloud where the viewer becomes the content provider, the media just a conduit between us. Content is king, presentation secondary.
As a visual learner/amateur graphic designer, I know presentation will aways matter, but I also know that presentation is subjective- what works and is appealing for you may look and work like crap for me. With the evolution of web interface we can all find the information we want and need and not be held back by poor design.
Of course, being held back by poor content is another issue, but one step at a time!
Edit: Ha! I beat BoingBoing at posting something for once :).
